Aix-Pertuis Intercommunal Hospital announces the opening of a new health center with extended hours, operated by Urgencemed: an innovative cooperation for the region

The Aix-Pertuis Intercommunal Hospital and Urgencemed are pleased to announce the conclusion of an innovative public health partnership concerning the opening and management of a new health center with extended hours within the hospital. This center is expected to serve more than 20,000 patients per year.
For many years, public hospitals in France have been responsible for the majority of emergency care and their ER departments are being saturated. Part of this overcrowding results from poor patient orientation and a lack of alternative structures for minor traumatology.
In order to provide better outpatient care for non-life-threatening medical emergencies, the Aix-en-Provence Intercommunal Hospital has entered into an innovative public health partnership with the company Urgencemed in conjunction with the Aix Sainte Victoire CPTS.
Urgencemed, a subsidiary of the Santé Cie Group, has created and manages a dozen extended-hours health centers throughout France and works regularly with public health establishments in the territories where they are located. Urgencemed centers offer care for all types of unscheduled medical consultations, without any need for an appointment. The continuous presence of doctors and nurses allows for a rapid response to any unscheduled medical need or general medical consultation, as well as on-site nursing care or biological tests. This coordinated care model, which is always complementary to the local health care offer, aims to reinforce access to care over extended hours to help reduce the pressure on emergency services, in partnership with hospitals.
The Urgencemed health center at the Aix-en-Provence hospital will open its doors to patients on January 3, 2023. It will be open every day, from 9am to 10pm, including on weekends and during holidays and will take care of patients, adults and children, who usually turn to the hospital’s emergency services for general medical care or minor trauma.
Accessible by bus, the center is located on the site of the Aix-en-Provence hospital, Avenue des Tamaris, 13100 Aix-en-Provence. Visitors to the center can park in the hospital’s parking lot.
